Mrs. Irene Bibbie welcomed us into her Harvey, IL home and told us her story. Her husband, Don, worked for Commonwealth Edison for many years. Unfortunately, he suffered a stroke and needed a wheelchair. Over the years, he’s had several motorized scooters. Don just got a new one. When Mrs. Bibbie saw the original CBS story on the friendship of Ed Kane and Bob Shea and how they created Devices 4 the Disabled, she knew what she was going to do with those old scooters.
We were blessed to get these chairs,” she says. “I feel this was truly a blessing to give them to someone who looks like they need it. Other people should look around for equipment they have around the house and think about other people who can use it.”
