D4D was pleased to be able to help a member of a population in need that was new to us. Most people don’t know it, but hospice patients can be discharged on occasion. When discharged, they often need wheelchairs and other equipment. But Medicare won’t provide it. Megan Carroll, a social worker at Rainbow Hospice, contacted us about a patient on the west side of Chicago. The patient was being discharged from hospice and needed a patient lift so that he could continue to live at home. D4D provided the lift. The picture shows the patient’s brother-in-law Lewis with our Bob Shea. We’re so happy to be able to help this person literally get from one place to another.
